The government states, “Regarding the ‘deportation of 59 Koreans detained in Cambodia,’ we are in discussions for repatriation.”

Cambodian authorities have announced that they will deport 59 detained South Koreans today (17th), and the government has stated that they are coordinating the specific repatriation schedule.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned this morning that while both sides are in close consultations for early repatriation, there are still some technical and administrative issues remaining, making it difficult to announce a specific departure schedule at the moment.

Once the details regarding the repatriation schedule are finalized, they will be announced immediately.

On the second day of activities today, the government’s joint response team plans to visit the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior to meet with high-level officials.

Additionally, a press conference will be held tonight in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to report on their activities and future plans.
