Professor Seo Kyung-deok’s 30s arrested for threatening comments on murder… confesses to the crime.

The 30-year-old man who left death threats in comments related to a news article about Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University has been handed over to the prosecution, according to the cyber investigation team of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency. The man, identified as A, was accused of posting a comment threatening to kill Professor Seo on an internet portal site on August 20 around 12:25 PM. The article in question contained content about a social networking service (SNS) account pretending to be Professor Seo promoting Takeshima (Japan’s claim to the Dokdo name) and the Rising Sun flag. A was found to have posted a comment stating, “I will kill you today” in response to this article. Following a report from an internet user, the police initiated an investigation and arrested A on August 26 through Internet Protocol (IP) tracking. A is reported to have confessed to the crime to the police. However, it was determined that there was no particular grudge between A and Professor Seo. The specific motive for the crime has not been disclosed. Professor Seo commented on the incident on social media, stating that he found the comment posted on the portal site to be chilling and emphasized the seriousness of making death threats anonymously.
