It’s raining today, but in Yeongnam, it is expected to be just at the level of a mist.

Rain Across the Nation, 5-10㎜ Expected in the Yeongnam Region
No Additional Rain Expected Until the 5th of Next Month

,
,The spring rain predicted across the nation on the 27th is expected to fall lightly, like a spritz from a spray bottle, before subsiding, amidst the spread of wildfires. After the rain stops on the night of the 27th, no additional precipitation is forecast for more than a week until Arbor Day, which could further dry the wildfire-affected areas. With typhoon-level strong winds continuing, challenges in controlling the wildfires persist.
,
,According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, from the night of the 26th, a pressure trough accompanied by a rain cloud band will enter the country, with rain starting from Jeju and the southern coast, expanding nationwide on the 27th. In many regions, including areas affected by wildfires, the forecasted rainfall amount has decreased by about 5mm compared to the previous day’s forecast. The expected rainfall amounts are 5-20㎜ for the Seoul metropolitan area, 5-10㎜ for Chungcheong, Honam, and western Gangwon, less than 5㎜ for eastern Gangwon, and 5-30㎜ for Jeju. In the Yeongnam region where wildfires have occurred, areas excluding the inland west of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam are expected to receive 5-10㎜, while Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and inland west of Gyeongnam are forecasted for 5㎜. Less than 5㎜ is expected in wildfire-affected regions such as Uiseong, Cheongsong, and Sancheong.
,
,Strong winds with a maximum instantaneous speed close to that of a typhoon, around 15m per second, will blow across most of the nation on the 27th as well. Currently, the southwesterly winds are crossing the Baekdu Mountain Range and supplying hot, dry air to the Yeongnam area, and with the strong winds, the rain falling in the Yeongnam region on the 27th is expected to scatter like a sprayed mist. For the extinguishing efforts to be effective, heavy rain is needed, but that will not be the case.
,
,From the night of the 27th, cold air moving in from the northwest will cause temperatures to drop significantly. With cold, dry, strong winds sweeping the nation from the 28th to the 30th, the dryness across the entire country is expected to increase. Additionally, after the rain stops on the 27th, no further rain is expected until the 5th of the next month, leading to rapid drying of the atmosphere and ground in the interior regions.
,
,Meanwhile, due to the influence of warm westerly winds, historical temperature records for March were broken across various places nationwide on the 26th. Nearly summer-like weather, with temperatures approaching 30 degrees Celsius, was observed. The temperature in Incheon reached a high of 23.3 degrees, marking the highest March temperature since the beginning of weather observations in August 1904. The previous record was 21.9 degrees, set on March 21, 1920, which stood for 105 years before this new record.
,
,On the same day, Daejeon recorded a highest temperature of 29.3 degrees, the highest March temperature since weather observations began there in January 1969. The previous highest March temperature record was already broken once on the 23rd (highest temperature 26.4 degrees) and was broken again four days later.
