‘ Hanyang University (President Lee Kijung) will recruit 1,655 students within the quota and 186 students outside the quota in the 2025 regular admissions. They will select 333 students in the student affairs (recommendation type), 182 students in the student affairs (comprehensive recommendation type), 684 students in the student affairs (document-based type), 29 students in the student affairs (interview type), 118 students in the ‘Choose Opportunity’ category, 154 employees of specialized high schools, 224 in the essay evaluation, and 117 in the practical/performance evaluation.

‘ This year, they will select 333 students within and outside the quota for the student affairs (recommendation type), which targets students who graduated (expected) from domestic regular high schools since February 2024 (including 2024 February graduates) and received recommendations from their high school principals. Applicants must meet the minimum SAT score requirements. The minimum SAT score requirements include achieving a total score of 7 or less in three of the following areas: Korean, math, English, social studies, or science.

‘ The number of recommended students per high school is determined based on the number of 11% of third-year enrolled students as of April 1, 2024. Applicants with school violence-related records in their school records are not eligible for school principal recommendations.

‘ The prohibited (ineligible) high schools for application are specialized high schools, meister high schools, art high schools, physical education high schools, broadcasting communication high schools, academic recognition high schools (including various schools), and general/integrated high schools with different academic record systems.

‘ The student affairs comprehensive (recommendation type, document-based type, interview type, choose opportunity) admissions system at Hanyang University, which previously evaluated students based on a single factor, has been reorganized into three types of admissions from this year’s admissions. They will select students through student affairs comprehensive (recommendation type) with application of SAT score requirements, student affairs comprehensive (document-based type) which evaluates students based on comprehensive student records, and student affairs comprehensive (interview type) which incorporates a two-stage selection process.

‘ The eligibility criteria vary by admissions type, and applicants are advised to check the specific criteria before applying. Overlapping applications are not allowed between recommendation type, document-based type, and interview type, however, for ‘Choose Opportunity’, applicants who meet the qualifications can apply to multiple departments regardless of the major. The eligibility criteria for the ‘Choose Opportunity’ category include ‘Basic livelihood support recipients and upper-layer class’, ‘National merit recipients’, ‘Rural students’, ‘Specialized high school graduates’, ‘Special education students’. They will recruit 154 employees from specialized high school graduates who have worked in industry for more than 3 years.

‘ The applicant eligibility requirement for the student affairs comprehensive (recommendation type) is a student who received a recommendation from their high school since February 2024 (including 2024 graduates) and has completed at least 5 semesters in a domestic high school.

‘ The student affairs comprehensive (service-oriented) evaluation is divided into three main types; the SAT score requirements apply to student affairs comprehensive (recommendation type), and the student affairs comprehensive (document-based type) evaluates students using the same method as the former student affairs comprehensive (general evaluation) method. For the student affairs comprehensive (interview type), they select applicants through five times the standard in the first stage and conduct a 20% interview for the second stage.

‘ The student affairs comprehensive (document-based type) eligibility criteria include graduates from domestic regular high schools or equivalent qualifications. The student affairs comprehensive (service-oriented) evaluation accounts for 100% of the evaluation, with SAT score requirements.

‘ The student affairs comprehensive (interview type) eligibility criteria are graduates from domestic regular high schools or equivalent qualifications. They will include candidates eligible for early admission to higher-tier high schools among second-year students expected to graduate in February 2025.

‘ The ‘Choose Opportunity’ category selects students with severe economic difficulties to evaluate their comprehensive achievements based on their academic records, creative learning experiences, specific skills and specialties, behavioral characteristics, and overall opinions recorded in the student affairs section.

‘ The essay evaluation admissions are open to graduates of domestic regular high schools or equivalent qualifications. They select candidates based on the essay exam (90%) and student affairs comprehensive evaluation (10%). The student affairs comprehensive evaluation considers attendance, volunteering, school violence, etc., to assess the students’ commitment to academic activities.

‘ The practical/performance evaluation selects students based on their skills and specialties in areas such as fine arts (22 students), music (50 students), physical education (12 students), acting (2 students), and dance (31 students).

‘ The newly established department ‘Hanyang Interdisciplinary College’ at Hanyang University offers a non-major department aimed at fostering interdisciplinary talents.
