On the 2nd, Kim Dong-yeon, the governor of Gyeonggi Province, visited a farm in Habuk-ri, Jinwi-myeon, Pyeongtaek City, to inspect a greenhouse that had collapsed due to heavy snowfall. Gyeonggi Province plans to request the central government to declare the region a special disaster area due to the significant damage caused by the unusual snowfall.
Governor Kim visited the greenhouse in Habuk-ri, Pyeongtaek City, a heavily affected area, to assess the damage. He stated, “The scale of the damage is larger than expected, and there seem to be many difficulties. We will try to find as many ways as possible to address these issues in cooperation with the city.”
He further mentioned, “Including the use of the disaster relief fund and reserves, we will quickly implement measures that the province can do together with the city. The most necessary step is to promptly take actions to recover from the damage.”
After Pyeongtaek, Governor Kim inspected a factory collapse site and nearby livestock facilities in Bogae-myeon, Anseong City. Earlier, on November 29, Gyeonggi Province had decided to provide 30.15 billion KRW in financial aid for emergency recovery and support for affected residents and small business owners.
