Chuncheon City announced on the 4th that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a dementia ward at the Chuncheon City Geriatric Hospital main entrance at 3 p.m. on the 5th.
Chuncheon City plans to invest 5.6 billion KRW by 2025 to build a three-story dementia ward with a total area of 1,285 square meters and 32 beds on part of the site currently used as a parking lot at the Chuncheon City Geriatric Hospital.
The dementia ward will provide systematic dementia-related medical services such as professional diagnosis, treatment, and care.
This is expected to reduce the burden on dementia patients and their families.
A Chuncheon City representative stated, “Once the dementia ward is built, we will be able to focus on treating dementia patients who are difficult to care for at home,” and added, “We plan to conduct various projects to prevent the worsening of dementia and reduce the burden on families.”
