[Cheongju, Newsis] Reporter Lee Dogeun – The voter turnout for the 1st nationwide simultaneous election of Saemaul Geumgo chairpersons in the Chungbuk area was 21.5% as of 1 PM.

According to the Central Election Management Committee on the 5th, out of 108,098 voters, 23,248 people (21.5%) voted between 7 AM and 1 PM at 31 polling stations in the province.

This is 5.6 percentage points higher than the national turnout of 15.9% at the same time.

In the province, the Chungju-Umseong Hanmaeum Saemaul Geumgo with 3,028 members had 1,439 people vote, showing the highest turnout of 47.5%. In contrast, the Cheongju Osong Saemaul Geumgo had a turnout of 10.9%, with 886 out of 8,164 members voting.

The election to select chairpersons for 48 Saemaul Geumgo branches in the province will continue until 5 PM today. Of the 48 elections, 19 are being contested today, while the other 29 have candidates running unopposed and are declared elected without voting.
