Adam Boehler, the U.S. Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs, projected that there could be significant progress in the release of hostages held by Hamas in a few weeks.
He also assessed that there is a sufficient possibility of a settlement in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
Previously, Special Envoy Boehler had recent interactions with Hamas officials in Qatar.
Boehler described his recent contact with Hamas officials as a beneficial meeting, expressing optimism that the release of all hostages, not just Americans, could be possible.
Regarding the possibility of further contact with Hamas, Boehler acknowledged uncertainty but kept the possibility open.
He expressed hope for the war between Israel and Hamas, indicating a potential for a long-term ceasefire.
He further stated that if a ceasefire is achieved, prisoners will be released, Hamas will lay down arms, and agree not to participate in future political organizations.
