U.S. Supreme Court to Hear Trump Tariff Lawsuit Next Week

U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on South Korea and other countries, and the legality of these tariffs will be reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court next week.

The Supreme Court will conduct oral arguments on the lawsuit related to the tariffs imposed by President Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) on the 5th, local time.

In April, President Trump declared a national emergency, claiming that the chronic large trade deficit of the U.S. poses a significant threat to national security and the economy. Based on the IEEPA, he announced the imposition of reciprocal tariffs on a country-by-country basis.

While the lower courts (first and second instances) have ruled the tariffs illegal, the Supreme Court, which has a majority of conservative judges, might make a decision favorable to President Trump.
