“President Donald Trump announced on the 25th, local time, that the U.S. and South Korea have agreed to uphold the trade agreement reached last month.”

“After a meeting with President Lee Jae-myung at the White House, during the proclamation signing ceremony, Trump was asked whether the trade negotiations with South Korea had concluded. He responded, ‘Yes, I believe we have completed the negotiations.'”

“He stated, ‘They (South Korea) had some issues with the agreement, but we stood our ground,’ adding, ‘They will honor the agreement they agreed to conclude.'”

“President Trump particularly emphasized President Lee, saying, ‘He (President Lee) is a very good guy and a very good representative of South Korea. This is a very big trade deal. It is the largest agreement South Korea has ever concluded.'”

“Previously, on the 30th of last month, South Korea agreed with the U.S. to reduce the reciprocal tariff rate imposed by the U.S. on Korea from 25% to 15%, under the conditions of a $350 billion investment in the U.S. and a $100 billion purchase of U.S. energy products.”
