Ahead of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the legality of the ‘Trump tariffs’, President Trump has been making continuous efforts on social media to sway public opinion. He claims that the record investment influx into the U.S. is thanks to the tariffs and promises a dividend of $2,000 per person from the profits generated by these tariffs.

[Report]
As the Supreme Court began intensive hearings last week on the legality of the U.S. tariff policy, President Donald Trump has taken to social media regularly in a campaign to defend it.
Trump stated via his social media that the tariffs have generated trillions of dollars and will help start repaying the $37 trillion debt, while also contributing to a surge in investments leading to factories being established everywhere.
He further stated that opposing the tariffs is foolish and announced plans to distribute a dividend of at least $2,000, approximately 2.9 million KRW, to all citizens excluding the high-income group from the income generated through tariffs.
He repeatedly emphasized that the tariffs were responsible for boosting investments in the U.S. from countries like South Korea.
[Donald Trump/U.S. President/On the 7th: “The investment from South Korea is $350 billion. Without tariffs, we couldn’t even talk about such amounts of money.”]
In a situation where even some conservative Supreme Court justices are questioning the declaration of a national emergency as a basis for imposing tariffs, it appears President Trump is taking matters into his own hands.
While Trump claims there are no side effects such as inflation, concerns are being raised within the White House.
If the longest government shutdown continues until the end of the month, the U.S. economic growth rate for the fourth quarter could be cut in half.
[Scott Besant/U.S. Treasury Secretary: “There was an economic impact from day one, and the situation is worsening. This quarter’s economic growth rate could decrease by up to half if the shutdown persists.”]
Amid predictions that the scale of reduced flights could increase to up to 20%, around 2,000 flights have already been reduced due to the shutdown.
