Smart executive offered “I’ll give you my sperm”… Musk, who doesn’t find 11 children enough

Elon Musk (52), the CEO of Tesla, has purchased several mansions in Austin, Texas, to live with his 11 children, according to a report from the New York Times (NYT) on the 30th (local time). In recent months, Musk has expressed to acquaintances his desire to live close to all his children.

To achieve this, he has spent $35 million (about 4.83 billion won) to buy two mansions in Austin. NYT reported that Musk is staying in another house near these mansions. It is reported that Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink founded by Musk and the mother of three of his children, is currently living in one of these homes with their children.

According to Walter Isaacson’s biography, ‘Elon Musk,’ published in September of last year, Musk offered to donate his sperm to Zilis, encouraging her to have children. Zilis agreed, and through in vitro fertilization, she had fraternal twins, a boy and a girl.

Musk has five sons with his first wife, author Justine Wilson. After his divorce from his second wife, he had two sons and a daughter with Canadian singer Grimes. Grimes, who had three children with Musk, is reportedly not living at Musk’s Austin residences and is in a legal dispute over child custody.

The five children Musk had with his first wife, Justine Wilson, are living elsewhere. Musk has reportedly been estranged from his daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson (20), who transitioned from male to female.

Recently, at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Musk appeared as a virtual speaker, expressing concerns that while AI poses a severe short-term threat, the world’s long-term threat is the collapse of the global population. He warned that Korea’s population would significantly decline to less than one-third of its current state if trends continue.

He added that Europe’s population could drop to less than half of its current state, assuming the birth rate per woman recovers to the sustainable minimum of 2.1. If current trends of declining birth rates continue, the world’s population could drop to less than 5% in three generations.

Musk frequently posts on X (formerly Twitter), expressing concerns about the declining global birth rate. He responded to an article noting that birth rates in wealthy economies worldwide have halved since 1960, calling it a “population collapse catastrophe.”

Additionally, when Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram residing in Dubai, revealed that he had over 100 children worldwide thanks to sperm donation, Musk replied with humor, mentioning “Chinggis Khan,” suggesting that Durov’s number is small in comparison. Musk referenced Chinggis Khan due to the historical accounts of the 13th-century conqueror having thousands of descendants worldwide.

The NYT speculated that, given his concerns about global population decline, Musk might consider expanding his family further through sperm donation. The report also mentioned that Musk had proposed donating his sperm to Nicole Shanahan, the ex-wife of Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin, with whom he was rumored to have had an affair.
