While there is no progress in the ceasefire negotiations, Russia continues to expand the occupied territories.

President Zelensky announced that high-level officials from the U.S. and Ukraine would meet this week to discuss the possibility of direct negotiations with Russia.

Over the vast fields, Ukrainian military positions are ambushed and struck by the Russian army.

This footage, released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, claims that a village in the Dnipropetrovsk region of southeastern Ukraine has been occupied.

Russia is widening its advance, but Ukraine denies this.

[Volodymyr Zelensky/Ukrainian President: “The fight between good and evil continues. Russia continues to attack us, ruin us, and destroy us.”]

He also announced plans to meet with high-level U.S. officials later this week to discuss the possibility of direct negotiations with Russia.

Local media reported that he implied the possibility of a meeting with Putin.

[Volodymyr Zelensky/Ukrainian President: “I will meet with some or all of the people mentioned by the journalist (U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, Vice President Vance, Special Envoy Witcoff). There will be many things happening this week.”]

President Zelensky is asking allies to agree on security guarantees for his country, but President Trump holds a skeptical view.

However, he emphasized Europe’s lead with U.S. support.

[Donald Trump/U.S. President: “You don’t understand what a security guarantee is, do you? We haven’t even discussed the specifics yet. We’ll see, but we will engage as support. We will help them.”]

Russia has expressed that it agrees in principle on international guarantees for Ukraine’s security but cannot accept any method that considers Russia as an enemy.

Following the U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska on the 15th, expectations for peace in Ukraine have risen, but progress is slow due to the differences in positions between Russia and Ukraine.
