Initially estimated as a 4.6 magnitude event, the earthquake’s epicenter was located near Highland Park, just 10.5km northeast of LA City Hall, with a depth of 11.0 km.

The Associated Press reported that the earthquake was strongly felt across the LA area, with residents saying glass and dishes rattled in many places. No damages have been reported, and the National Weather Service stated that no tsunami is expected.
