Large-scale drone attack on Russian mainland… “Targeting infrastructure”

Over 2 weeks, the Ukrainian military, which has been engaging in combat in the Russian border city of Kursk, has carried out a large-scale drone attack targeting Russian territory. The mayor of Moscow announced that 11 drones were shot down, describing it as the largest drone attack in history.

Attempts to shoot down aerial objects continue in the sky. Finally, the flying object is engulfed in flames as if hit by something.

An independent news outlet, Moscow Times, released a video of a drone attack witnessed in Murmansk, the northwestern most part of Russia. The governor of Murmansk confirmed through social media on the 21st local time that necessary measures have been taken in response to the drone threats, without providing specific details.

Murmansk is home to military airports, and local reports stated that operations at two local airports were temporarily suspended due to safety concerns.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, also stated, “Ukraine conducted a drone attack in the Moscow area.” He explained, “11 drones were shot down by Russian air defense forces in the urban airspace, marking the largest scale drone attack carried out.”

However, no human or material damage was reported. This attack is seen as part of Ukraine’s large-scale drone attacks targeting various regions of Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that they shot down 23 drones in the Bryansk border area, 6 in Belgorod, and 2 in Kursk.

Ukraine is expanding drone attacks into deep Russian territory while simultaneously engaging in ground battles in the border city of Kursk. Ukraine previously stated that they are enhancing aerial attacks on Russian territory to destroy war infrastructure.
