Iranian media: “Reports of a second meeting are not true; negotiation prospects are uncertain”

Iran’s state-run media IRNA has drawn a line regarding President Donald Trump’s mention of a second round of talks, claiming that the United States is obstructing the conclusion of negotiations.

On the 19th local time, IRNA reported, “The reports that a second meeting will be held in Islamabad are not true,” and added, “In the current situation, the prospects for effective negotiations are unclear.”

The agency also pointed out that “the U.S.’s excessive, irrational, and unrealistic demands, frequent changes of stance, constant contradictions, continuation of the maritime blockade deemed to violate the ceasefire agreement, and threatening rhetoric are hindering negotiation progress.”

Meanwhile, the semi-official Iranian Tasnim News Agency, citing internal sources, reported, “Iran has not yet decided to send a negotiation delegation,” and added, “There will be no negotiations as long as the maritime blockade continues.”

Previously, President Trump stated on Truth Social, “My delegation is going to Islamabad, Pakistan,” adding, “They will be there tomorrow evening for negotiations.”
