The ceasefire in Gaza is on the brink.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Hamas that intense combat will resume if the scheduled hostage release does not proceed as planned.

As Arab nations strongly oppose President Trump’s plan to take over and develop the Gaza Strip, King Abdullah of Jordan met with President Trump at the White House.

This is a report by correspondent Kim Gae-hyung in Dubai.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has warned Hamas of the resumption of fighting.

He emphasized that if the hostage release is not completed by noon on the 15th, the ceasefire will end, and Israel will engage in fierce battles until Hamas is decisively defeated.

He also stated that he had ordered the military to marshal troops in and around the Gaza Strip.

[Benjamin Netanyahu / Israeli Prime Minister: “Last night, I instructed the Israeli military to gather forces inside and around the Gaza Strip.”]

Hamas announced that it would indefinitely postpone the hostage release, claiming that the previous day Israel had violated the ceasefire agreement by firing on civilians and obstructing the delivery of relief supplies.

Regarding this, President Trump, in a press conference following a summit with King Abdullah II of Jordan, predicted that Hamas would not proceed with the hostage release on the 15th.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President: “I foresee that Hamas will not release the hostages as scheduled. It seems they are trying to appear tough. Let’s see how tough they can be.”]

King Abdullah is the first Arab leader to meet with President Trump since he announced plans to take over and develop Gaza.

In the meeting, President Trump mentioned U.S. aid to Jordan and Egypt, pressing for the acceptance of Gaza residents.

In response to reporters’ questions about the Gaza plan, King Abdullah explained that Egypt and Arab nations have discussions planned.

[Abdullah II / King of Jordan: “We must keep in mind that there are discussions planned with Egypt and Arab countries. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has invited discussions in Riyadh.”]

King Abdullah stated that the immediate action they can take is to bring 2,000 child patients from Gaza to Jordan as soon as possible.
