British pop legend Elton John (77) revealed that his eyesight has deteriorated to the point where he is unable to watch the musical performances for which he composed music.
On the night of the 1st (local time), at a charity event for the musical “The Devil Wears Prada” held in London, Elton John took the stage and said, “I couldn’t attend many premieres because I lost my sight, but it sounded really good.”
Earlier, Elton John mentioned in an interview with the American show “Good Morning America” last week that “unfortunately, I lost the sight in my right eye due to an infection in southern France in July and have been unable to see for four months,” adding that “my left eye is not in good condition either.” He also mentioned that due to this, studio recordings have been challenging, delaying work on his next album.
“The Devil Wears Prada” is based on the novel of the same name, which also inspired a highly popular film. Elton John composed the music for the musical version.
American actress and singer Vanessa Williams plays fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, a role previously played by Meryl Streep in the movie. Priestly is known to be modeled after Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who wields significant influence in the fashion industry.
