A US private lunar lander lands on the moon… Current status unknown

Intuitive Machines, a U.S. private company, has successfully landed its second unmanned lunar probe on the moon’s surface. However, the current status of the probe remains unknown.

On the 6th, local time, the unmanned lunar probe “Athena” attempted a landing at around 12:31 p.m. in a highland area approximately 160 km from the moon’s south pole.

According to officials from NASA, due to communication issues, the exact condition in which Athena landed has not been determined.

Athena, an unmanned spacecraft with a height of 4.8 meters and a body diameter of 1.6 meters, was launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the 26th of last month.
