Tmap Mobility to Develop Integrated Voice and Text ‘Mobility AI Agent’

Tmap Mobility has expressed its ambition to evolve into an integrated mobility platform by combining data with artificial intelligence (AI). At a press conference held in Seoul, Tmap Mobility shared plans to expand its business using accumulated data. The company’s revenue from its data business increased by 49.3% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, due to the integration of various data types, including maps, locations, and voice data.

In the public sector and intelligent transportation systems, Tmap operates a data insight board that provides age and gender visit ratios and departure points for specific locations. According to Park Seo-ha, Tmap Mobility’s D&I director, this function can assist small business owners in selecting optimal locations.

Furthermore, Tmap’s data-driven business includes the car life project, which links driving score data to insurance discount benefits, with a 35% increase in sales in the second quarter from the previous year. The company also plans to offer diverse insurance products by combining driving and walking data.

Tmap Auto is another area where Tmap Mobility seeks to merge AI with data to provide infotainment optimized for driving environments. The company aims to upgrade Tmap Auto to an integrated mobility AI agent by introducing destination recommendations, voice-based navigation, and personalized search functions.

Tmap Mobility also plans to offer a distinctive AI experience through conversational mobility AI. Jeon Chang-geun, a Tmap Mobility product director, announced plans to provide innovative Tmap use experiences by equipping Tmap with a conversational mobile AI agent capable of location search, exploration, and navigation control.

The multi-command feature in the voice AI agent allows users to request routes with stops included, even if the exact destination is not specified, and enables personalized and themed location recommendations. Additionally, AI review summaries of popular places will be introduced, and Tmap Mobility will integrate voice AI and chat AI agents in the future. The goal is to deploy an integrated AI agent in Tmap next year, enhancing functionality and user experience by combining voice and chat agents into a multimodal system.

Finally, Jeon expressed the company’s intention to showcase mobility AI agents with unique features, unlike general-purpose AI agents.
