“SOOP has released the beta version of its global live streaming platform ‘SOOP’ on the 5th,” the company announced.
SOOP plans to differentiate its global platform service based on its technical capabilities and experience in operating domestic live streaming platforms, gradually expanding its influence in the Southeast Asian market and focusing on esports content.
The beta version has introduced a new user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) focusing on convenience and customized services. Sponsorship items are called ‘GEM’.
Convenience functions for streamers are also provided. The ‘Channel’ feature allows users to view all contents streamed by the streamer. Categories like ‘Community’ for user interaction, and ‘Dashboard’ for viewing broadcast statistics and revenue management, are also available. Additionally, a space for chatting even when not broadcasting is provided, along with a chat translation feature for users.
The service is available in English, Thai, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Local content is prioritized based on user location. A real-time subtitle translation feature for communication between global streamers and users is expected to be implemented by the end of this month.
SOOP plans to focus on the Thailand market, introduce strategies for each country to discover local streamers, and strengthen user acquisition. The company also aims to expand its influence to global markets centered on Taiwan and North America.
Choi Young-woo, head of SOOP’s Global Business Division, stated, “SOOP aims to create an ecosystem where anyone worldwide can participate in various content beyond a simple streaming platform,” and “utilizing SOOP’s strengths in streamers, virtual content, and esports, we will do our best to create a new global streaming environment.”
Furthermore, within the third quarter of this year, SOOP plans to change the name of its domestic platform’s service name to SOOP and revamp the overall service.
