SK Square announced that it created a total of 387.4 billion won worth of social value (SV) last year, a 159% increase compared to 2022. Among them, ‘social impact’ and ‘indirect economic contribution impact’ recorded 322.9 billion won and 64.6 billion won, respectively, while ‘environmental impact’ saw a reverse growth of 1 billion won.

In terms of social impact, the accident prevention effect of the ‘T Map Driving Habit Service,’ provided by T Map Mobility, a portfolio company of SK Square, played a significant role. The T Map Driving Habit Service is a service that discounts driver insurance premiums if they exceed a certain score based on their driving data.

SK Square explained that it is strengthening environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management based on the vision of realizing sustainable growth through forward-thinking investments. In August of last year, they received an A rating in the ‘2023 MSCI ESG Evaluation’ conducted by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI). In December, they were also included in the ‘2023 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)’ Korea Index announced by S&P Global in the U.S. The DJSI Korea Index provides an inclusion opportunity to companies that received evaluation scores within the top 30% of their respective industries among the top 200 companies in terms of market capitalization in South Korea.

In addition, SK Square obtained a unified A grade in the ESG evaluation of the Korea ESG Standard Institute in South Korea.

Han Myeong-jin, head of the SK Square Investment Support Center, stated, “We will continue to transform into an investment specialist company that continuously creates social value for the happiness of shareholders and stakeholders.”
