Samsung SDS collaborates with Xbow and Tatum Security on AI security business

**Strengthening MSSP and Preparing for Security Incident Response Services**

Samsung SDS announced on the 10th that it will enhance its AI-based cloud security competitiveness through business collaborations with the American AI security startup XBOW and the domestic cloud security company Tatum Security.

With this collaboration with domestic and international AI security specialists, Samsung SDS plans to advance its security framework encompassing areas such as AI-based vulnerability detection, integrated cloud security monitoring, and security incident response.

Firstly, Samsung SDS will collaborate with XBOW to expand its AI-based vulnerability detection capabilities targeting the web-based IT assets of corporate clients. XBOW garnered attention as a startup when it ranked highest by detecting vulnerabilities faster and more accurately than human hackers on the world’s largest bug bounty platform, HackerOne, just one year after its founding last June.

By utilizing XBOW’s AI technology for simulated hacking, Samsung SDS will identify vulnerabilities in corporate clients’ web services and information assets more swiftly and precisely. Based on these findings, they will perform vulnerability remediation and follow-up actions. By proactively addressing vulnerabilities, the company can ensure service availability, reduce potential security incidents, and minimize legal and financial losses.

Additionally, Samsung SDS will strengthen its integrated security monitoring system tailored to multi-cloud environments through collaboration with Tatum Security. Founded in 2020, Tatum Security supports the integrated management and visualization of major public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as private clouds, from a single console.

Samsung SDS plans to provide integrated security monitoring and visibility to corporate clients utilizing various cloud environments by leveraging Tatum Security’s technology. This will allow for early identification of abnormal signs and risk factors by providing a clear view of the security status of multiple cloud assets, facilitating the prevention of security incidents. Furthermore, they intend to expand their scope of cooperation in areas such as cloud access and permission management services and joint development.

Moreover, as a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), Samsung SDS will strengthen its capacity to respond to security incidents before and after they occur. In the event of a security incident for corporate clients, they aim to prevent additional losses and reduce recovery time through rapid analysis and actions, as well as support business continuity and enhance cyber resilience by analyzing incident causes and establishing measures to prevent recurrence.

Jang Yong-min, Head of Security Business at Samsung SDS, stated, “Through balanced collaboration with advanced security startups at home and abroad, we have established an advanced response system across the entire spectrum of cloud security, from proactive prevention and constant monitoring to post-recovery. We will proactively respond to the rapidly increasing new threats following the widespread adoption of AI within enterprises.”
