“Robots Replace Humans in Transporting Parts: Innovation at SK AX’s North American Factory [AI Pick]”

**Maximizing Logistics Efficiency with AMRs and Unmanned Forklifts in Production Lines**

SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Yonhap) — SK AX announced on the 11th that it has completed a logistics automation project at a North American global automotive parts factory.

SK AX has implemented a logistics system that autonomously operates from the transport of semi-finished products to the shipment of finished goods without human intervention by deploying Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and unmanned forklifts (AFR) across the entire factory.

The robots are equipped with simultaneous localization and mapping functionality, allowing them to determine their position and find optimal routes even indoors where GPS signals are unavailable.

Additionally, SK AX has introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Logistics Information System (MCS) and an AMR control system to comprehensively manage the overall factory logistics flow.

This system analyzes the production line’s operational status, inventory locations, and robot travel conditions in real-time to allocate the most efficient routes.

In particular, the logistics information system is specialized for the parts manufacturing process, utilizing a dedicated architecture modeled to fit the actual production line.
