NCSoft’s first-quarter operating profit plummeted to 5.2 billion won, marking an 80% decrease compared to the previous year.

“NCSoft recorded a revenue of 360.3 billion KRW, an operating profit of 5.2 billion KRW, and a net profit of 37.5 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year.

Revenue decreased by 12% compared to the previous quarter and 9% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit and net profit turned positive from the previous quarter, but decreased by 80% and 34% respectively compared to the same period last year.

Revenue by region amounted to 228.3 billion KRW in Korea, 56.1 billion KRW in Asia, and 30.9 billion KRW in North America and Europe. Revenue by platform recorded 206.3 billion KRW from mobile games and 83.3 billion KRW from PC games.

NCSoft announced a minimum revenue target guidance of 2 trillion KRW for next year. This was calculated by taking into account the continued expansion of legacy IP and the effects of new releases expected in the second half of 2025, based on major indicator forecasts. Depending on the performance of the new lineup, they projected that revenue growth could reach up to 2.5 trillion KRW.

As concrete plans to achieve the revenue target, they suggested ‘expansion of Legacy IP’ through large-scale updates, expansion of service regions, and the launch of spin-off games, as well as accelerating the release of new IPs like Aion 2, LLL, Breakers, and Time Takers.”
