**KT “Considering Additional Briefing”**
Illegal base station IDs, suspected to have been used for unauthorized small payments by KT, have reportedly been further identified. The number of victims of such unauthorized transactions has also increased.
On the 16th, industry sources revealed that the joint public-private investigation team probing the KT hacking incident discovered approximately 20 new illegal base station IDs, in addition to the four previously identified as used in the crime.
Moreover, additional victims of unauthorized small payments, now more than ten, have been identified.
As of now, KT has counted 362 victims, while the police, as of the 13th, have identified 220 victims. The difference is attributed to varying counting methods, with the possibility that some individuals included in the police investigation were not counted in KT’s report.
Meanwhile, KT is reportedly considering an additional briefing regarding the damage situation related to this incident.
