LG CNS teams up with Cohere to develop ‘Agentic AI’ services.

LG CNS has become the first in Korea to establish an AX partnership with global AI unicorn Cohere, aiming to dominate the domestic agentic AI market.

LG CNS will collaborate with Cohere to develop customized agentic AI services for Korean companies. Agentic AI goes beyond simply answering questions and generating reports; it autonomously plans, executes, and evaluates to achieve goals, making judgments on its own and solving complex problems.

Cohere, a Canadian-based AI unicorn founded in 2019 by former Google AI researchers, has AI models and solutions built on data security for enterprises. Supported by major investments from global tech companies like Nvidia, Oracle, and Cisco, Cohere’s current corporate value is approximately $5.5 billion (around 8 trillion won).

LG CNS plans to customize Cohere’s agentic AI solution “North” first in Korea to build company-specific agentic AI services and offer them safely in an on-premises (built-in) format. North includes AI agents and various LLMs for handling core business tasks such as HR, finance, and customer support.

Additionally, through this partnership, LG CNS will fine-tune Cohere’s LLM to jointly develop Korean and finance-specialized agent models that will be integrated into North.

The two companies plan to start their foray into the financial sector AX market and expand into industries like manufacturing and distribution/services, with aspirations to enter the global agentic AI market in the future.

Jin Yohan, senior vice president and head of the AI Center at LG CNS, stated, “LG CNS will lead the market together with Cohere at a time when full-scale agentic AI has yet to commence in Korea.”
