On the morning of January 2, CEO Youngseop Kim of KT held a New Year town hall meeting, emphasizing the importance of the year as the starting point for KT’s transformation into an “AICT Company” (a company based on Artificial Intelligence and Communication Technology). He announced plans to achieve significant results in AI-based B2B and media sectors.
During the meeting, CEO Kim mentioned that last year, KT focused on innovation in capabilities, workforce, and business to transform into an AICT Company, and laid the groundwork for growth in the B2B AI sector through a partnership with Microsoft. He mentioned various AI innovations were advanced in sectors such as media and networks.
He highlighted that this year will be a crucial one for KT as the company sets out to effectively become an AICT Company and urged everyone to collaborate and focus on this goal.
CEO Kim listed three main objectives for the year. The first is achieving remarkable results in the B2B sector through collaboration with Microsoft, which possesses world-leading technology. The second goal is to grow the media business field and transform it into a core portfolio alongside telecommunications and IT. Lastly, he called for innovations in management systems by integrating AI and IT technologies to accelerate modernization and change.
He concluded by urging everyone to elevate their capabilities, become masters of collaboration, and unite with a sense of mission to transform KT into a leading company in telecommunications and IT, driving innovation in the industry and contributing to the nation.
