KT kicks off the ‘K-Festa’ in Gwanghwamun… Celebrating 140th anniversary with AI, K-Pop, and eSports all in one place.

[Financial News] KT announced on the 3rd that it will open the urban cultural event ‘K Festa’ at Gwanghwamun Square on the 5th. K Festa is a cultural festival commemorating the 140th anniversary of KT’s predecessor, the Hanseong Telegraph Bureau.

The main events of K Festa will be held on the 5th, 6th, and 22nd. KT will transform the Gwanghwamun Nori Madang into ‘KT West Park,’ creating a space where everyone can relax and enjoy.

During this period, a ‘CORTIS AR Dance Challenge’ booth will be available at KT West Park, allowing visitors to learn and mimic the choreography of the rookie group CORTIS’s new songs “GO!” and “What You Want” through augmented reality. Additionally, there will be an experience zone showcasing KT’s latest AI technology and interactive events.

On the 5th, a lighting ceremony for the gigantic media wall ‘KT Square’ at the KT Gwanghwamun Building West will be held. After the ceremony, there will be performances by a traditional Korean percussion group and K-pop artists like Zion.T and CORTIS. All the K Festa events will be broadcast in real-time with ultra-high-definition video and interactive content through KT Square.

On the 6th, programs themed around eSports and gaming culture will be held. These include a game OST orchestra performance, a mini fan meeting with KT’s eSports team ‘KT Rolster’, and a StarCraft Legend Match featuring famous players such as Hong Jin-ho and Kang Min. On the 22nd, there will be diverse attractions like AI cinema and an interactive fashion show.

Yoon Tae-sik, head of KT Brand Strategy, said, “K Festa is a cultural festival that commemorates the first lighting of KT Square while incorporating unique elements such as AI, media content, and music.” He added, “We hope you enjoy the special experience of technology and culture converging in the open space of Gwanghwamun.”
