Korea-U.S. Space Seminar Held… Exploring Cooperation Measures Between Space Companies

The government held a seminar in Washington, D.C., to facilitate exchanges between Korean and American space companies at the Korea-US New Space Seminar, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korean Space Agency, and the Meridian Center, a U.S. non-profit organization focused on international diplomacy. The event took place on the 15th, U.S. local time.

Attendees included government officials from both countries’ space sectors and representatives from about 30 companies. The government provided updates on the newly established Korean Space Agency and outlined major space policy directions. Additionally, Korean companies engaged in various fields such as satellite development and application, launch services, space exploration, and space medicine presented their business models and strengths while exploring collaboration opportunities with the U.S.

On the U.S. side, representatives from agencies like the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission, and NASA attended, introducing their space-related activities and emphasizing the importance of Korea-U.S. commercial cooperation in space. The government also reported that American companies showed significant interest in potential collaborations with Korean companies.
