Kakao Entertainment announced on the 24th that it has signed a strategic partnership with China’s leading music streaming platform “NetEase Cloud Music” for collaboration in K-pop distribution.
Through this partnership, Kakao Entertainment plans to present its distributed music library, along with new releases from artists, on NetEase Cloud Music. The two companies will pursue multifaceted business cooperation across music services and various promotions linked to K-pop.
NetEase Cloud Music is a music streaming platform under NetEase Group, one of China’s leading IT companies.
Kakao Entertainment stated, “Based on this partnership, Chinese music fans will be able to interact and connect more closely with K-pop music and artists through a variety of content.” It added, “We will collaborate with various partners worldwide to strengthen Kakao Entertainment’s global distribution competitiveness and lead the expansion of K-pop’s global network.”
