IPTV, VOD without additional payment like OTT… B tv All+ released.

SK Broadband has introduced an IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) plan that allows viewers to watch 257 real-time channels and over 20 VOD (Video on Demand) titles for a monthly fee in the 20,000 won range. The company announced on the 2nd that they are launching the ‘B tv All Plus’ plan. The monthly fee for internet/IPTV bundled service with a 3-year contract is 22,000 won.

‘B tv All Plus’ combines the existing real-time channel plan ‘B tv All’ with the unlimited VOD monthly subscription plan ‘B tv Plus (+)’. It is up to 28% cheaper compared to subscribing to each plan separately. SK Broadband stated that after launching the B tv Plus plan in July, the average daily subscriber rate increased by about 34%, with an increase of 2.4 hours of viewing time per subscriber.

Moreover, SK Broadband mentioned that the content available through B tv All Plus can also be watched on the mobile app ‘Mobile B tv’. The service allows up to 4 mobile devices to be connected to one set-top box.

An official from SK Broadband stated, “Existing IPTV plans were channel-based, making it difficult for customers to experience a variety of content they desire, and the VOD monthly subscription required separate purchases by genre. We reflected the demands of customers familiar with OTT (Online Video Services).” The company also plans to implement services such as summary of storylines, posters, and highlights utilizing AI (Artificial Intelligence) by the end of the year.
