Hong Beom-sik, the president of LG Uplus, stated in his New Year’s email to employees today (2nd) that “the fastest way for us to secure competitiveness is to establish an ecosystem with various partners, including companies with artificial intelligence (AI) technology and platform companies that understand the value of customer experience. This will create exclusive barriers to entry that rivals cannot surpass.”
Hong said, “While understanding the organizational tasks over the past month, I have confirmed the solid foundation that has been built over time despite numerous challenges,” expressing his insights.
Appointed as the head of LG Uplus at the end of last year, Hong has gathered an understanding of the business through organizational briefings, management leader workshops, and site visits since his inauguration. Three days earlier, on the last day of 2024, he encouraged team members by visiting the Magok Integrated Control Center, among others.
He emphasized four key elements, including the establishment of an AI Transition (AX) ecosystem.
Through the AX ecosystem, which will be built in partnership with others, he aims to provide hyper-personalized value to customers.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of fully immersing in customer needs and proactively identifying market changes.
Hong said, “We must go beyond addressing customer’s pain points and discover points that would make customers say ‘Wow.’ We should elevate our standards from the customer’s perspective and achieve a differentiated competitiveness that surpasses what others are doing.”
Furthermore, he called for performance measurement and resource allocation based on data and metrics, and stressed the importance of establishing fundamentals such as quality, information security, and safety.
