Google Cloud CEO: “An Era Where AI Does the Work… ‘Intelligence Integration’ is Essential”

Google Cloud Next: Thomas Kurian Introduces ‘Agentic Enterprise’ Strategy “AI has evolved from being a simple tool to an entity executing the entire enterprise operation. It is crucial to integrate AI intelligence more than ever. We will support enterprises through a platform that covers the entire process from building to operating AI agents.”

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, emphasized the integrated AI platform as a core infrastructure at a media briefing ahead of ‘Google Cloud Next 2026.’ Kurian stated that connecting data, applications, and people to integrate all tasks into an intelligent flow is key.

The highlight of the event will be the ‘Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.’ This platform is designed to handle agent construction, along with expansion, governance, and optimization, within a single environment.

Kurian said, “With this platform, enterprises can implement actionable AI for real business tasks,” adding, “Its orchestration feature supports collaboration between agents to automate even complex workflows.”

The platform includes functions for both developers and non-developers. Features like ‘Agent Studio’ for building agents using natural language, ‘Agent Registry’ for managing agent assets, and a ‘Memory Feature’ for providing long-term memory are representative examples.

Kurian also mentioned that security and control functions within the platform have been strengthened. Features like ‘Agent Identity,’ which assigns a unique ID to each agent, ‘Agent Gateway’ for policy-based control, and ‘Agent Detection’ for identifying abnormal behaviors, are integrated to reinforce security.

Kurian shared use cases for the Gemini Enterprise app. The app provides an integrated interface for creating, sharing, and executing agents. It adds features like ‘Skill’ for automating repetitive tasks and ‘Canvas’ for supporting document work.

Kurian predicted, “The structure of enterprise operations will change in the future. AI will evolve from being information retrieval-centric to action-centered AI that directly executes tasks.”
