On the 18th, Genians, a cybersecurity company, announced the opening of a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The new office is located in the Dubai Internet City (DIC), a technology hub in the Middle East. DIC houses over 3,000 companies, including Fortune 500 companies such as Google and Microsoft, and employs more than 29,000 professionals.
Genians plans to continuously expand its business areas based on its current portfolio of over 50 Middle Eastern client references. The company aims to perform a national project valued at 3.8 billion to develop a managed cybersecurity system tailored for the Middle Eastern market, with plans to eventually expand its business to Europe and Africa.
The establishment of the UAE office is expected to play a significant role in Genians’ expansion in the Middle Eastern market. The company intends to enhance its understanding of the local market and strengthen partnerships by leveraging its office presence to expand its customer base in the region and establish a firm market foothold.
Starting with the new office, Genians plans to participate in Middle Eastern IT and security exhibitions such as GITEX and GISEC, and hold roadshows targeting major countries in the Middle East to expand customer-focused business initiatives. Additionally, through the creation of tailored materials and search optimization for online business, Genians aims to significantly enhance customer reach and accessibility. The company also plans to collaborate with an India-based technical support team to further develop its global technical support and training programs.
Genians’ CTO and head of its US branch, Kim Gye-yeon, stated, “There are many similarities between the Middle Eastern cultural and IT system management styles and those of Korea, leading to a high preference for Korean security solutions,” adding, “Genians’ UAE office will act as a hub not only for the Middle East, but also for expanding into European and African markets.”
Meanwhile, Genians has moved into the “UAE IT Support Center” located in Dubai Internet City (DIC), established by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) as part of a policy to open new export markets in the Middle East. The center houses seven promising Korean SMEs in the ICT sector, offering them opportunities to use business infrastructure and expand global networks with investors and buyers.
