, “Soap Labs Insight announced on the 13th that the results of a travel perception survey conducted on 1,000 university students in their 20s through the college life platform app ‘Everytime’ for two weeks starting from the 3rd of last month.”,
,
, ‘Seventy-four percent of respondents considered overseas travel essential during their university years. The actual percentage of university students who traveled abroad in the past year was 47.5%, which increased by 18.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.’,
,
, “The reason university students considered travel essential was analyzed to be more about experience than healing. When asked about the purpose of their trips, ‘trying new experiences’ (44.9%) ranked first. This was followed by ‘getting away from a busy daily life for healing’ (24.7%), and ‘enjoying good times with loved ones’ (16.4%).”,
,
, ‘In addition, respondents mentioned that they most splurged on food (75%) when traveling. Tours and tickets followed at 42%, and accommodations and shopping at 37% and 36% respectively.’,
,
, ‘Results on preferred overseas travel destinations were also revealed. When comparing traveling to Europe or the United States once a year versus traveling to Japan or Southeast Asia five times a year, selecting Europe or the United States once a year was at 60.5%, indicating a preference for long-distance travel. In terms of preferred travel destinations (multiple responses), Western Europe took the lead at 46.8%, while Japan ranked second at 38.8%, a 25.5 percentage point decrease from the previous year.’,
,
, ‘Analysis from Soap Labs suggested that the decrease in preference for traveling to Japan was due to the recent decline in interest in Japan following the export restrictions caused by the Japan-South Korea conflict. In reality, the top destination for university students who have recently traveled or are planning to travel abroad this year (multiple responses) was Japan (73.2%), followed by Southeast Asia at 35.8%, East Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc.) at 27.1%, and Western Europe at 15%.’,
,
, ‘Furthermore, more than 9 out of 10 university students who have recently traveled abroad (475 individuals) were familiar with purchasing tours or tickets directly online. The most purchased items (multiple responses) were admission tickets (amusement parks, art galleries, etc.) and transportation passes, at 70.9% and 69.3% respectively. They also bought tour packages (47.8%), spa/massage/hot springs (26.9%), and activities (26.1%) in significant amounts.’,
,
, ‘It was found that on average, respondents used two channels to purchase products. Coupang (25.5%) and Naver Reservation (19.8%) were the most used, followed by My Real Trip (11.4%), Agoda (9.9%), Trip.com (9.7%), and Trazy (7.8%).’,
