[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Yoon Jeong-min = SK Telecom (SKT), which experienced a massive personal data breach last year, has completely overhauled its security system. They are implementing preventative measures such as encrypting USIM authentication keys and significantly increasing the authority of security officials.
The Personal Information Protection Commission held a plenary meeting on the 13th and reported the results of monitoring the implementation of corrective orders and recommendations for improvements in the second half of 2025.
The commission issued a total of 222 corrective orders, improvement recommendations, and public announcements to 93 companies and institutions in the latter half of last year. Of these, 211 cases (95%) have been implemented or implementation plans have been submitted.
