Yes, regarding the possibility that an attempt to execute the arrest warrant for President Yoon might occur, lawmakers from the People’s Power Party rushed to the Hannam-dong official residence even before dawn.

It is reported that more than 40 lawmakers, including senior members like Kim Ki-hyun, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Cho Bae-sook, as well as first-timers like Jo Ji-yeon and Park Jun-tae, gathered.

However, the party leadership explained that this was not a party-level action, but that the lawmakers went on their own accord.

The lawmakers on site argued that the warrant issued by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), which lacks authority to investigate rebellion charges, is “invalid” and should not be executed.

They also pointed out that the Democratic Party recently removed “treason under criminal law” from their impeachment grounds and argued that a “fraudulent impeachment” should be stopped.

During a meeting at the National Assembly in the morning, Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee, also criticized the CIO and the Democratic Party.

Here’s what Kwon said:

“If the CIO believes it is a genuine investigative body, it should not be swayed by the Democratic Party’s political agitation… We urge the Democratic Party to immediately cease utilizing the current situation strategically according to their leader’s judicial risk schedule.”

Chairman Kwon criticized the CIO’s decision to delegate the warrant execution to the police, stating that “the CIO does not have the authority to subcontract to the police.”

Meanwhile, floor leader Kwon Seong-dong, Na Kyung-won, and senior lawmakers, along with party-affiliated members of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee, visited the Constitutional Court in protest this morning.

Floor leader Kwon raised suspicions that the withdrawal of the “treason” charge might be due to collusion between the Constitutional Court and the Democratic Party, asserting that a re-vote on the impeachment motion is needed.

Yes, at the emergency general assembly held in the morning, Lee Jae-myung, the representative, also launched criticisms against Acting President Choi Sang-mok.

He pointed out that incomprehensible events are occurring regarding the arrest of President Yoon, insisting that Acting President Choi is responsible for resolving this situation.

Nevertheless, Lee went on to state that Acting President Choi seems to be engaging in “destructive acts,” much like President Yoon, who aimed to become king while destroying the community order and ended up on the path to becoming a prisoner.

Let’s directly listen to Lee’s remarks.

“These actions seem to be another act of treason, pursuing some personal benefit through the destruction of order. We must severely hold the acting president accountable for disrupting order, which constitutes a second act of treason…”

The Democratic Party warns that if Acting President Choi does not immediately take appropriate actions to stop the security office from blocking the warrant execution and failing to properly perform his duties, they will file charges against him.

Representative Lee also held a meeting with senior party members in the morning.

At the meeting, there was a consensus that the situation in which the execution of the arrest warrant issued by the court was being obstructed, centering on the president’s residence, amounted to a “second internal disorder” against the national constitution.

However, regarding the impeachment of Acting President Choi, there were differing opinions among senior party members, so no decision could be reached, according to Chief Spokesperson Cho Seung-rae.

This has been reported from the National Assembly.
