Yoon Sang-hyun said, “President Yoon said, ‘I’m glad I attended the Constitutional Court.'”

Members of the People Power Party, Representative Kim Min-jeon (left) and Representative Yoon Sang-hyun, reported that President Yoon Seok-yeol commented on the misunderstandings regarding the “12.3 Martial Law” and expressed that it was a good decision to appear in person for the Constitutional Court’s impeachment trial.

After visiting President Yoon at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Representatives Yoon Sang-hyun and Kim Min-jeon told reporters that President Yoon remarked, “I realized a lot after appearing at the Constitutional Court. It was a seriously misconceived situation, and appearing at the court was probably the right choice.”

Representative Yoon also mentioned he told the President, “You are still the president of South Korea in your 20s, and you should be confident,” to which President Yoon responded by affirming, “Isn’t the president the pride of the people?” and confirmed he would maintain such an attitude.

Furthermore, it was reported that President Yoon acknowledged the current challenging national situation and emphasized, “The Democratic Party and the left have formed a strong cartel and are fighting persistently. We should not become disorganized like grains of sand.”

Regarding the meeting, Yoon noted, “I came with the mindset that it is fundamental to support the opening of the gates to a liberal democratic system by the president. If we share the value of defending the liberal democratic system, a much more active and combative stance is necessary than now.”

Additionally, about 30 to 40 members of the People Power Party have discussed visiting President Yoon with him, and lawmakers plan to visit on Monday. It was also stated that President Yoon would stop accepting visits after the beginning of next week.
