President Yoon Suk-yeol announced on the 7th that the Second Affiliated Office, which will assist the official activities of his wife, Kim Keon-hee, has been formally launched. Jang Soon-chil, the Secretary of Citizen Society 2, has been appointed as the head of this office.
During a press conference held at the Yongsan presidential office that day, President Yoon stated, “I appointed the head of the Second Affiliated Office today, and they will also hire staff to work together as soon as possible.”
President Yoon added, “Until now, if there was a request for the first lady, the President’s Office handled it, but since the Office is very busy, managing these aspects well could reduce risks.”
When asked about whether Ms. Kim would refrain from external activities, President Yoon responded, “It’s not about refraining, but we’ve actually stopped things that my core aides or I determine aren’t crucial for national interests, and we intend to continue this approach.”
