The People Power Party (Kuk Him) states, “Lee’s Daejang-dong trial should resume today” and claims that “Park Soo-hyun is stating false information.”

“In the first trial of the Daejang-dong development corruption case, where all involved parties received heavy sentences, the People Power Party (PPP) has launched a campaign against the Democratic Party’s proposed ‘Trial Suspension Law,’ arguing that the trial should be restarted.”

“At today’s Supreme Council meeting, Representative Jang Dong-hyuk stated, ‘President Lee Jae-myung acknowledged himself as the designer of the Daejang-dong project, and the court recognized that the corruption was carried out with the approval of Seongnam City’s top officials.’ He asserted that ‘it is only natural for the heaviest sentence to be imposed on the president.'”

“He continued, ‘Restarting the trial even today is common sense, rule of law, and what the public expects.’ He warned that if the trial is not restarted, the Democratic Party will undermine the judiciary to oust the Chief Justice and threaten judges by creating a ‘crime of judicial distortion.'”

“The People Power Party also responded to statements by Democratic Party spokesperson Park Soo-hyun, who allegedly said he would file a criminal charge against the People Power Party for violating criminal code article 324, coercion. To this, the public responds, ‘Shut up, I ordered it.'”

“In response, the People Power Party demanded an apology, stating that spokesperson Park posted false information on his Facebook page.”

“In a statement, Chief Deputy Spokesperson Choi Soo-jin clarified that while Park claimed that Song Eon-seok raised questions about resuming President Lee’s trial during the national audit period, the actual questioner was Representative Song Seok-jun.”

“Choi criticized, ‘In which country does the ruling party’s spokesperson threaten the main opposition without basic fact-checking, citing a criminal code violation? This blind devotion to the president has led them to make such a basic mistake as confusing names.'”

“Choi further criticized Park for making baseless claims, saying Park initially stated there was no plan to process the ‘Trial Suspension Law’ but then illogically contradicted himself with claims of self-defense, accusing the People Power Party of forcing and threatening the president to resume five key trials. She emphasized that without an apology and retraction of his statements, they would pursue all possible legal actions, including defamation and false accusation.”

“Previously, on his social media, Chief Spokesperson Park stated, ‘The ruling party had no intention to tamper with the ‘National Stability Law,” but during the national audit, Representative Song Eon-seok questioned the court about the possibility of resuming President Lee’s trial. When the court responded affirmatively, they triggered a delicate situation.'”
