[Financial News] The Democratic Party announced on the 20th that they have decided to form a “Public Opinion Survey Special Committee.”

Chief Spokesperson Jo Seung-rae met with reporters after a high-level strategy meeting held privately in the afternoon and stated, “There was a discussion that various factors have complexly contributed to the recent public opinion trends, leading to such results,” and “we have decided to establish a ‘Special Committee for Public Opinion Survey Verification and System Improvement.'”

Democratic Party Member Wi Seong-gon will head the Public Opinion Survey Special Committee, with Member Lee Yeon-hee serving as Deputy Chair of Strategy and Planning, while Members Kim Young-hwan, Lee Kang-il, and Hwang Jung-ah will participate in the committee.

Chief Spokesperson Jo explained the role of the special committee, stating, “It will address the verification and response to distortions and manipulations in public opinion surveys,” and “if the verification results suggest distortion or manipulation is suspected or there are problems, we will refer the matter to the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission.”

Additionally, Jo noted, “We will explain the related trends once verification and organization are complete, and during this process, we will also create tasks for system improvement.”
