The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has selected a rapid prototyping project for an anti-drone response system aimed at jamming enemy suicide drones.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has selected the “Intelligent Electronic Warfare-based Anti-Drone System” as the first rapid demonstration project for 2025. This system involves attaching devices to tanks to neutralize enemy drones and suicide drones through jamming. It detects remote control signals from all directions and performs electronic warfare jamming when threats are identified.

The rapid demonstration project aims to apply new technologies, develop prototypes within two years, and verify military utility. The bidding announcement for the selected project will be conducted in May by the Defense Rapid Acquisition Technology Research Institute. Research and development will take place over approximately two years, leading to the production of prototypes. These will be deployed for trial operation by the military starting in 2028.

Hankyong-ho, Director of the Future Defense Project Division at DAPA, stated that the rapid demonstration projects will continue to quickly apply innovative civilian technologies to the military, thereby enhancing the level of national defense science and technology.
