Pyeongtaek’s Lee Uidong: “Kim Yong-nam should be prosecuted and step down immediately.”

“The People Power Party’s candidate Yoo Ui-dong, who is running for the parliamentary by-election in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, announced that he would file a complaint against the Democratic Party’s candidate Kim Yong-nam under the name of the People’s Power Party’s legal committee chair. This follows allegations that Kim is running a money-lending business under another person’s name.”

“Today, at an emergency press conference held at the People’s Power Party’s central office in Yeouido, candidate Yoo stated, ‘Candidate Kim must disclose to the citizens of Pyeongtaek whether the leaked recording is true, who the dividends were allocated to, and if he operated a money-lending business under another person’s name.'”

“He further argued, ‘Money-lending is a sensitive business that directly affects the national economy, and operating it under another person’s name is strictly prohibited. Kim is giving a clever explanation, but even that does not add up.'”

“Additionally, Yoo urged, ‘If Kim cannot focus on regional issues after being elected and wastes time defending allegations, the citizens of Pyeongtaek will inevitably suffer the consequences. Kim should immediately withdraw.'”

“Yoo also commented, ‘President Lee Jae-myung has previously remarked that usury is a harbinger of national ruin. Is it okay to turn a blind eye to the money-lending operation allegations involving the ‘new Lee Jae-myung,’ candidate Kim Yong-nam?'”

“Previously, a media outlet reported that candidate Kim was involved in running a money-lending business through an agricultural company he owned, and disclosed a recording where Kim allegedly said, ‘Although it’s operated under someone else’s name, all dividends are mine.'”
