Rep. Jang Dong-hyuk of the main opposition People Power Party, a member of the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee, has expressed his intention to resign from the committee.

Rep. Jang reportedly conveyed his resignation intention to the party’s leadership, citing concerns about potential conflicts of interest as he faces trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act related to his reported reduction of assets.

On the 11th, Rep. Jang was indicted on charges of falsely reporting a reduction of assets worth 30 million won.
