President Yoon Suk-yeol met and shook hands with Jo Kook, the leader of the People’s Revolution Party, at an official event for the first time in five years.

President Yoon attended the ‘Buddhist Ceremony Celebrating Buddha’s Birthday in the 2568th year of the Buddhist calendar’ held at the Main Hall of Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the Buddhist holiday today (15th) and exchanged greetings with Jo Kook on his way out.

President Yoon shook hands with Jo Kook and exchanged greetings, but it was reported that they did not engage in any special conversation.

It was reported that President Yoon meeting Jo Kook on an official platform is the first time since July 2019.

President Yoon, who was appointed as the Prosecutor General during the Moon Jae-in administration, met Jo Kook, who was the Chief Presidential Secretary at the time, and exchanged greetings during the appointment ceremony held at the Blue House.

President Yoon also shook hands with Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party who attended the ceremony, Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, and Yang Hyang-ja, the floor leader of the New Reformation Party.
