Park Geun-hye, who visited her mother’s birthplace, said, “We must provide the belief that promises will be kept.”

Former President Park Geun-hye Visits Childhood Home of Late Mother Yuk Young-soo in Okcheon

On the 25th, former President Park Geun-hye visited the childhood home of her mother, the late Yuk Young-soo, in Okcheon, Chungbuk, greeting the local residents.

Arriving at around 11 a.m. dressed in a white jacket and black pants, this visit marks her return to her mother’s birthplace one year after her previous visit ahead of last year’s presidential election.

As she appeared, residents gathered like clouds around the birthplace, waving their hands and repeatedly shouting “Park Geun-hye.” Entering amid enthusiastic cheers, former President Park shook hands with residents and waved back in greeting.

She also willingly responded to requests for photos and autographs from the locals.

After spending about 20 minutes touring the birthplace with People Power Party candidates Kim Young-hwan, Jeon Sang-in, and lawmakers Park Deok-heum and Eom Tae-young, she boarded a vehicle.

Before leaving, former President Park addressed the press, saying, “If [the candidates] keep their promises, the people will recognize this and make their choice. I believe both candidate Kim Young-hwan and candidate Jeon Sang-in can provide such trust.”

Later, she dined with the candidates nearby and was scheduled to visit the campaign office of People Power Party’s Daejeon mayoral candidate Lee Jang-woo in the afternoon. She also planned to meet merchants and residents at Sansung Market in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province.
