Park commented on the release of President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 10th, stating, “Prosecutor General Sim Woo-jung is the root cause of all these issues.”

During the supreme council meeting at the National Assembly, Floor Leader Park said, “Prosecutor General Sim unnecessarily delayed the indictment, providing loopholes and directing the abandonment of the exercise of authority stipulated by law, which allowed time for the criminal to escape and destroy evidence.”

Park criticized, “The fact that there is still a concern about the destruction of evidence by Yoon Seok-yeol is an even larger problem,” and noted that “the prosecution has the authority to immediately appeal the first trial court’s decision to rectify this at a higher court. However, they voluntarily gave up that authority.”

He continued, “At a time when concerns about the destruction of evidence, which is a primary reason for detention, still exist, is it not providing an opportunity for evidence destruction by failing to appeal the cancellation of detention?”

Park emphasized, while mentioning the instance where the prosecution rejected the arrest warrant for Deputy Director Kim Seong-hoon of the security office, that “the prosecution should be seen as having provided an opportunity to destroy evidence and assisted in the escape of the criminal, Yoon Seok-yeol.”

He raised his voice, saying, “If Prosecutor General Sim has any conscience, he should resign immediately without disgrace.”

Moreover, he called on the Constitutional Court, stating, “We request a swift decision from the Constitutional Court, as the emergency martial law on December 3 was an attempt to destroy the constitutional order and democracy of the Republic of Korea.”

Park stressed, “The Constitutional Court, as the last bastion of the constitution and democracy, has a serious responsibility to resolve the current chaos,” and “we collectively request a swift decision with the people to minimize the national confusion and damage, and to protect democracy.”

He then added, “Haven’t we confirmed that Yoon Seok-yeol has no intention to defend the constitutional order?” and “there are more than sufficient reasons for the Constitutional Court to dismiss Yoon Seok-yeol.”
