Oh Se-hoon also turned to ‘support impeachment’… “Yoon should be judged by the law through impeachment.”

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon expressed his support for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol regarding the ‘December 3 Martial Law Incident’ on the 12th. On the morning of the same day, Mayor Oh wrote on his Facebook, “(President Yoon) must face the judgment of the law through impeachment proceedings based on the facts revealed so far.” He added, “This decision should be made as the party stance of the People Power Party.”

He criticized the current situation, stating, “The president, who should resolve the situation, remains silent, and the party is divided. International credibility has dropped, and the national economy has worsened. The economic situation needs to be normalized quickly.”

Mayor Oh emphasized, “Now is the time to make decisions for the future of South Korea,” and insisted, “The party must be united in the face of these national issues and should not be divided.” He continued, “We must prioritize the future of South Korea over party interests because the stability and prosperity of the nation are more important than the party’s future.”

Earlier, on the 6th, the People Power Party’s council of metropolitan city and provincial governors, which included Mayor Oh, stated, “We must avoid the president’s impeachment at all costs.” The council’s stance was that “President Yoon Suk-yeol should step back to a secondary role by forming an emergency cabinet led by a responsible prime minister.” At that time, they emphasized, “We must avoid presidential impeachment at all costs to prevent any further disruption of the constitutional order. Despite the chaotic situation, we must refrain from extreme confrontation, stabilize state affairs, and alleviate public anxiety.”
