Comparison to an ‘Unsolved Murder Case’ of Election Fraud
Call for a Change to Manual Counting System, As President Yoon Suk-yeol, accused of being the mastermind behind a rebellion, has been arrested, Kim Min-jeon, a member of the People Power Party, mentioned the legitimacy of martial law proclamation by President Yoon. On the 19th, Rep. Kim shared a post on her Facebook referencing the part of President Yoon’s ‘Letter to the People’ where he raised suspicions of election fraud and wrote, “As I read this, the first thought that came to mind was ‘Poor Yoon Suk-yeol.'”
She stated, “Even though there’s a lack of evidence to punish an individual for election fraud, we cannot simply dismiss it as a conspiracy theory.” Specifically, she described President Yoon as a courageous leader standing against injustice, claiming, “Though he has nothing to gain by running again, he risked even his presidency to break this massive cartel of silence.” She compared the election fraud to an ‘unsolved murder case’ and said, “It seems we might know the culprit.”
Rep. Kim then introduced several situations from the 2020 21st General Election that appeared suspicious and said, “There were over 120 lawsuits for election annulment, but neither investigations nor recounts were conducted as they were dismissed.” She asserted, “Such absurd rulings likely stem from judges holding dual roles as chairpersons of both the National Election Commission and various levels of election management committees. Thus, election fraud equates to judicial responsibility,” calling for a swift reorganization of this ‘half-man, half-beast’ like body.
Additionally, Rep. Kim echoed President Yoon’s claim that the National Intelligence Service’s inspection of the National Election Commission’s server revealed significant issues, arguing, “Our voting and counting system lacks an onsite verification framework and is overly reliant on online processes, which can lead to problems.” She insisted on changing the electronic counting system to a manual one. In conclusion, she said, “In response to demands for proof of election fraud against President Yoon, it breaks my heart. How much more new evidence do they want when strange ballots already exist, and the National Intelligence Service has pointed out system stability issues?”
Previously, Rep. Kim facilitated a controversial National Assembly press conference for the anti-communist youth group calling themselves the ‘White Bone Squad.’ Although she later apologized through social media, explaining their association with a symbol of dictatorship and violence, members of the Democratic Party’s education committee urged her to resign from her position on the committee due to her actions.
